We heard today from National Park Service, and we are a GO, under permit number 21-0044

The written permit will include conditions like safe distancing, face masks, no shared anything, no physical contact. I will share those conditions with you in advance.


  • ACE Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Institute donates goodie bags, which we assemble on Friday, April 30, starting at 2:30 PM at their office at 2841 Hartland Rd, #401B, Falls Church VA 22043, on the first block north of Lee Highway (Route 29) just inside the I-495 Capital Beltway
  • Boom Nutrition donates CarbBoom, the best-tasting energy gel anywhere
  • Pacers of Clarendon, 3100 Clarendon Boulevard, Arlngton VA 22201 allows us to set up packet pick-up on Saturday, May 1, 11:00 AM to 5:30 PM, inside the store if rain, outside on the sidewalk if nice like today
  • TD Bank of Clarendon donates branded face masks if you don't bring your own, which you must wear while indoors and at the start / finish
  • Trader Joe's of Clarendon donates bananas for the finish line
  • T-shirts designed by Karla McDuffie, printed by SportScience -- get them at packet pick-up
  • Medals printed by Dain Kain Trophies -- get them post-race
  • Volunteers from Buy A Brick Foundation, DC Capital Striders, and Marathon Charity Cooperation
  • Race-Day Schedule:

  • 7:00 AM -- On-Site packet pick-up opens
  • 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM -- Laughter Yoga leader Diane Cohen leads two rounds of Laughter Yoga in honor of World Laughter Day
  • 7:45 AM -- 16-time Potomac River Run Marathon finisher Michael Creadon plays the National Anthem on trumpet
  • 8:00 AM -- Full marathon starts
  • 9:00 AM -- Half marathon starts
