Thank you for entering Friends of the W&OD 10K Late-breaking news! Following Rick Landers' SONGS OF THE HEARTLAND at 5:00 PM, LASARRUS Clinic and Research Center | Physical Therapy leads our pre-race warm-up at 5:30 PM. Our RFID electronic chip timing system is now up'n'running again -- after a brief delay to obtain the right cable for my new commputer -- so a small waterproof plastic envelope contaning your unique RFID tiimng chip is stapled to the back of your bib number. Please leave the chip in the envelope until after the race, then after you finish, tug off the envelope and dropy it into the RFID chip collection bucket for re-use at future races. Your bib number is your to keep. If you go home and discover you still have your RFID timing chip, please mail it back to me at SHF Jay Jacob Wind 611 South Ivy Street Arlington VA 22204 A few entrants asked for an early start to walk the course. If you plan to walk the course starting at 5:30 PM, please let me know tonight via e-mail to RACEDIRECTOR@ATT.NET subject WALK THE 10K, and I'll assign you to the WALKER catogory. No awards, but separate results. A few entrants asked to run virtually in their home towns. No problem, same deal, send me an e-mail to RACEDIRECTOR@ATT.NET subject VIRTUAL 10K, and I'll assign you to the VIRTUAL catogory. No awards, but separate results. Caboose Brewing Company can't provide coffee tomorrow as they're short-staffed, so I'll bring a full 30-cups coffee maker. Feek free to bring your own coffee mug! In case of rain, we bring waterproof weatherproof sheets collected from previous races. Don't be surprised if you get a New York City Marathon sheet! You can keep your sheet -- we won't re-use them. We have plenty of new sheets for future races. We have plenty of tents to protect you and the exhibitors from rain, but we must follpw the direction of NOVA Parks and Vienna Police in case of thunderstorms. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
