  • Our refund policy: We offer refunds only in cases of military deployment, airborne infectious disease, or a death in the family, but we do offer a generous deferral policy:
  • Tell us you're deferring so we can pull out your bib number for redeployment
  • Then simply go to the registration page of any future SHF race you want to defer into
  • Select Deferral or Transfer from a Previous Race ($10.00)
  • Done!

    Consumer warning!

  • We use Active.com for registration, but we dont't like some of its practices.
  • Active.com adds $1.25 plus 7.00% processing fee to every registration up to $149.99
  • Don't buy a MAGAZINE subscription, unless you really want it.
  • Don't buy ACTIVE ADVANTAGE for $89, unless you plan to run at least 9 races this year, so your $10 discount per race breaks even
  • Don't buy REGISTRATION PROTECTION unless you're really really sure you won't run the race -- some race directors will gladly provide 100% refunds upon request (I'm speaking for myself) REGISTRATION PROTECTION must be completed more than 48 before an event. Don't wait till two days before the event
  • If a race web page offers EXPRESS REGISTRATION, you can jump past where it asks you to create a password for future registrations.

  • The qualifying period for the 2024 Olympic Team Trials Marathon is now open

  • Between January 1, 2022, and December 5, 2023, men and women can qualify for the 2024 U.S. Olympic Marathon Team Trials by running a half marathon faster than 1:03:00 for men and 1:12:00 for women or a full marathon faster than 2:18 for men and 2:37 for women

  • The qualifying window includes both September 9, October 7, and October 14

  • Directors of half marathons (and marathons) hoping to have their events serve as qualifiers should be aware of the following “fine print.”

  • The event must be USATF sanctioned. Many events that use RRCA insurance and do not offer prize money might not be USATF sanctioned. Qualifying times at such events will not be accepted.
  • The event must be certified by a USATF or World Athletics or AIMS certifier. A list of USATF recognized certifiers appears here.
  • The drop limit of the course must not exceed 3.25 meters/kilometer. There are no start-finish separation requirements (all point-to-point courses are fine as long as they meet the drop limit standard).
